Today, Sunday 10th March 2019, President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas asked Dr Mohammed Shtaya to form the new Government.

Dr Mohammed Shtaya holds a PhD in Economics and a lecturer at Berziet University. He is a former Miniter of Economy, Work and Developments.

Dr Shtaya is also an Executive member of the Central Committee of Fateh party. He is a well respected professional.

Dr Shtaya will now start negotiating with the other political parties members of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation with the view to form a National Unity Government if possible.
